My pots

Even though choices in colour are limited when firing to 'Cone 8' (1260 deg C ) I like firing to this temperature as the ware is non-porous, vitreous ( glass-like ), frost proof and over-proof and has a ring to it rather than a 'thunk' when tapped. It also means that my wares are practical and can be used as well as appreciated aesthetically.

I enjoy working with porcelain and producing pots which have a degree of transparency highlighted by a range of decorative effects. Again my porcelain wares can all be used – I don’t want to think of them gathering dust – I like them to be 'out there', seen and appreciated.

My paintings

Watercolour was my first love and still is. The appeal of a street disappearing round a corner and wondering what lies beyond the next bend is something that draws me along a street and which I hope is mirrored in my paintings. I find it difficult to part from my paintings- they are windows into scenes I have valued.
